Charles Jamieson

Charles Jamieson is Chairman of Salamander Energy, an oil and gas exploration and production company specialising in South East Asia. Having helped its management team to raise initial capital of $50 million, he took the non-executive chair on retirement from his position as CEO of Premier Oil in 2005.
From 1981 to 2005, Charles was Finance Director, Managing Director and, for thirteen years, CEO of Premier Oil. During that time Premier acted as Operator for a number of joint ventures, on behalf of many major international companies.
Charles is Chairman of Aim, a listed oil and gas exploration and production company focused on West Africa. He is also Chairman of the Pakistan Britain Trade and Investment Forum, a body set up on the initiative of Tony Blair and President Musharaf to encourage trade between the two countries.
Before joining Premier Oil, Charles held positions at Gulf Oil at its European Head Office and at Ernst & Young in London, Sydney and Auckland.
