Alex has spent over 25 years in organisation development, specialising in executive development and change management consultancy.
Examples of client experience
Alex’s recent experience includes Premier Oil where he has worked with the CEO and his senior management team as they manage the challenges of leading a fast growing business towards entry to the FTSE 100. This long-term coaching and development work is based on Alex’s international experience across a number of clients in the Oil and Gas sector.
Due to the constitutional changes in 2005, Alex was asked help set up the Judicial Executive Board which included one-to-one coaching and implementing a programme of leadership training for the senior judiciary across in England and Wales. This was followed by a programme for the Scottish judiciary and the Scottish Court Service when they implemented similar changes.
He has worked with the senior management of London Underground as they meet the twin challenges of moving London while upgrading the tube. This work has included coaching, team facilitation and change management support for the executive team. Alex has worked with a variety of public sector leaders, e.g. coaching the political leadership in Newham, facilitating the Board and the Foundation at the Royal Parks Agency, leadership coaching for a number of DGs and Directors in a several Whitehall Departments.
Professional Expertise and Qualifications
Alex works with leaders across the private and public sectors to help them build and manage the relationships necessary to deliver business results. His particular expertise is in; Executive coaching, Facilitating executive teams, Collaborative leadership development, Conflict resolution, Organisation design and Board Evaluation.
He gained his consultancy experience with Sema Group Consulting where he led their capability in culture change and at Price Waterhouse. Before his consultancy career, Alex graduated in Zoology at Glasgow University then completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. He is a trained systems analyst and facilitator and he also holds certificates in psychometric testing. He has been a visiting lecturer at City University Business School and a member of faculty at Management Centre Europe. Alex is a Certified Management Consultant and a Fellow of the RSA.
