Developing collaborative leadership

In today's inter-connected world leaders have to work effectively not just with their staff, but also with partners, suppliers and stakeholders in many other organisations. A leader's individual success is no longer exclusively under his or her control. The challenge for leaders in the 21st century is to be able to deliver results from a complex web of inter-connected organisations and individuals. This means that leaders need to be able to build strong relationships across organisational boundaries, share control and handle the inevitable conflict that results in such situations.

We work with leaders across the public and private sectors to help them build the skills to deliver their objectives through effective collaboration. Using our experience and expertise in making business-critical relationships work, we:

  • Support individual leaders through focused and challenging one-to-one coaching. This work tends to concentrate on helping leaders improve how they manage conflict and share control with their stakeholders and partners - the most difficult areas for any collaborative leader
  • Develop the collaborative leadership capability in client organisations. We run training programmes which help aspiring and experienced leaders to develop their skills using the tools and techniques that we use in our own practice.
